Wedding is a big day in everyone's life be it girl or boy.
For a guy wedding is the end of his bachelorhood. It marks the end of his
carefree days of being the eligible bachelor. Wedding calls for more
responsibilities and commitment. In our country not many grooms
concentrate on planning their wedding outfits just as elaborately as the
brides do and they really miss out on a lot of details. But it is
important to decide what you will wear on your D-day. You must co-ordinate
the styling of the attire you will wear as well as the color keeping in
mind the complete look. It is not only your dress you have to decide but
your hairstyle, accessories and skin care should also be taken care off.
There are various pre wedding functions so you have to decide clothes for
all those function like engagement, tilak, sangeet, wedding and reception.
For your engagement you can opt for an Indo-Western styled suit comprising
of a Bandh Gala jacket with pants and an inner vest in contrast brocade.
Colors should be selected depending on your complexion like grey suit with
a black vest or a steel grey with deep vine vest. Different colors are in
different season but you should go for colors that suit your complexion.
The Sangeet ceremony requires an Indian touch, so to make a style
statement go for traditional wear kurta pyjamas with Chikankari Kashmiri
or Kashida embroideries. Churidar kurtas, can also be a good option. You
can opt for fabric like jutes, silks and linen in shades of pastels and
creams for the morning and darker shades of vines and blacks for the
evening.
For the main day wedding function you can opt for
sherwanis, Jodhpuri suits and Kurta Pyjamas. Sherwanis look stunningly
regal because they fuse the best of eastern and western styling they are
the perfect attire for the wedding and also the reception. Shades of peach
jamevar with touches of gold silver aari work or beiges and golds are more
suitable than the traditional cream churidar kurta. The Jodhpuri suit is
another option you can try out. It is similar to the western suit, except
that the jacket has a short collar, which is usually fastened at the neck
and is worn with matching formal trousers. It can be worn with a shirt
underneath in a matching or contrasting colour or even a round-necked
close fitting top. Kurta pyjamas truly represent the ultimate in
traditional ethnic fashion you can try out that attire also. For the
reception party you could have a formal look with the regular three-piece
suit but details of the tie as well as the shirt texture and accessories
could make a lot of difference. Go for stylish colors like shades of
copper, grey, navy blue, etc. Proper clothes with proper accessories will
be a wonderful combination. |
